About Nimbly Broker Academy

What is Nimbly Broker Academy?
Nimbly Broker Academy is training built specifically for benefits brokers, consultants, and client managers, especially those in their first two years in the industry. Each course teaches the way an experienced colleague would explain it. Courses are practical, scenario based, and grounded in situations you will run into on the job.
What can I expect if I enroll in Nimbly?
You'll pick a track, Compliance Mastery or Client Management Excellence, or take the “Not Sure Where to Start” assessment if you're not sure which fits. From there, you work through short courses at your own pace, each one building toward a credential you can point to with clients and employers. You can complete courses from both tracks to become the specialist you were meant to be.
Who created Nimbly, and why should I trust it?
Nimbly was founded by Lucia Fan, who spent more than 30 years in the employee benefits trenches, working at several of the top ten benefits brokers in the country. Over the decades, Lucia saw a gap in the industry that no one was addressing. Brokers were feeling overwhelmed, unsupported, and leaving the field because the work kept getting heavier while the guidance stayed thin. Lucia built Nimbly to change that. Every course is grounded in real experience, clear instruction and a practical teaching style that helps brokers stay confident and capable in demanding roles. You can trust Nimbly because it was created for one purpose: to give brokers the support they've been missing. Please visit our About page to learn more about Lucia.

Curriculum & Courses

What is the difference between Compliance Mastery and Client Management Excellence?
Compliance Mastery helps you get comfortable with the regulatory side of employee benefits: the rules, requirements, and how to apply them without the stress. Client Management Excellence covers the broader reality of the role. Client Managers must understand complex products, services, and solutions, manage client expectations, and serve as the day-to-day quarterback who keeps everything moving smoothly. Most brokers choose both tracks because the two skill sets work together in everyday broker life.
Do I have to take courses in a specific order?
No. Courses are built to stand on their own, so you can start with whatever is most relevant to you right now. If you complete the “Not Sure Where to Start” assessment, we can suggest a personalized track for you.
How do I share what I have earned?
You will receive a certificate when you complete each course. You earn a badge when you successfully complete six core courses in a track and pass the cumulative exam for that track. If you decide to pursue the Certified Benefits Compliance Advisor (CBCA) or Certified Benefits Client Manager (CBCM) designation, you will complete three additional advanced courses. The six core courses you already completed count toward each designation. Once earned, you can share your achievements on your social media platforms, putting your specialized training in front of your network.

Designation

What does a Nimbly designation mean?
A Nimbly designation is proof that you have built real expertise, not just clicked through slides. Completing a full track and passing a final cumulative exam earns you a capstone credential: Certified Benefits Compliance Advisor (CBCA) for Compliance Mastery or Certified Benefits Client Manager (CBCM) for Client Management Excellence. It's something you can point to with clients and employers.
What do I need to complete to earn a designation?
You will need to complete six core courses in a track plus three additional advanced courses, then pass a proctored final cumulative exam. The exam takes around 45 minutes.

For Agencies & Teams

Do you offer pricing for agencies and teams?
Yes. We offer volume pricing that drops automatically as your team grows. Since every agency's team looks different, we will provide a custom quote rather than a flat public rate.
Is there a minimum number of seats?
No. We are flexible and can work with any size agency.
Can I see how my team is progressing?
Yes. We can provide a usage summary report upon request.
Can we add seats during the year?
Yes. New team members get access right away, and we prorate the cost for whatever is left of your term.
Can we remove seats during the year?
Your seat count is locked for the year, so removing a seat takes effect at your renewal rather than partway through your term.
